This sporadic and aromatic herb is typically found today along the Mediterranean coast but it also grows in areas of Northern Europe. In some countries, it is also known as marine fennel or even called the herb of Saint Peter. It has been known to have flourished vastly all over the European continent up until the end of the 19th century and in fact, has been cited in some of the most famous literatures such as Shakespeare’s “King Lear”.
